Steve was with us in Commando Forces band when we went to the Falklands war. Quick witted and being a mickey taker of the highest order, he sometimes ended up nose to nose with people to make his point! I can hear his voice in my head now enquiring about anything with a simple question to me "Short, Snews?"  'meaning what is happening'.  It is a pity he did not manage to make any of the Stonehouse band reunions, as he would have been good company and would have added greatly to the mickey taking, especially of those who need it! [me included]  As we say in the band, 'See you in the countermarch Steve'
