I didn’t know Steve long when we shared a room/cabin onboard SS Canberra on our way to the Falklands. I was new to the band so was the butt of many a joke. For the first week or so Steve would come into the cabin and greet me with ‘all right FRISP?’ This niggled me, until one day i answered back! “Have you any idea what that means?” Steve was a bit taken aback because i seemed so angry. It was just something he had heard. So when i said it means ‘ fu****g repulsive ignorant Scottish pratt’ he was visibly shaken and immediately was apologetic. He was very relieved when i gave him the alternative version - a friendly reliable intellegent scottish person. He never called me that name again.
